Default Iron Ingot Help

Hi, i'm new to guildwars (ive started today) and i'm trying to upgrade my armour. So far i can only find one merchant that sells iron ingots, but in a package of 10 :L. Does anybody know where i can buy them singularly?
Thanks

Materials in stacks less than 10 must be bought through player-player trading. So open up the trade channel ($) in a relatively busy outpost/town and say "WTB 1 iron ingot". You'll get one in no time. Try not to be annoying by spamming the message though. :P

only from other players or you can salvage stuff for ingot. All common craft materials are sold by 10 by material traders (rares are sold by 1).

Also, you can salvage iron ingots from weapons you find. Swords usually salvage into iron ingots (using a salvage kit). You can find a full list on wiki.

Since you're new; if you don't know about wiki, it's a database for basically all Guild Wars info. Here's link: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page

Also some things that can salvage into iron ingots: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Category:Contains_iron

here here to the above post.
I generally salvage stuff from LOW level creatures. for some reason you get more Highly salvageable stuff as drops from unidentified items.

I would salvage, RODS of all kinds and some swords. I do know that all rods turn into iron. So find an area with a few mobs of low levels and mash away and use a salvage kit to get your iron. This ends up being cheaper than buying them from the traders or other players.

This is what I do to get my destroyer weapons

I salvage almost everything. Just buy them in packages of 10 if you cannot find any sellers. You could always use the extra in the crafting material storage.

As someone has mentioned, GWwiki is great, use it.

Armor can you, as you've discovered, only buy from one type of NPC; the armorer, hold down the alt-key and look around to see if there is anyone in the town, they is displayed as *first and last name* [armorer]. They are usually located in the bigger towns, use GWwiki for their locations:http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Armorer

If you don't need the armor now, it will be cheaper and pretty fast to salvage every crap drop you get, the materials adds up pretty fast and the ones you don't need can you always put in storage for later use.

And Welcome to GW and guru
